Improver Sailing: Stage 3
Our weekend improver sailing course for Stage 3 takes place over 3 x full days - Saturdays from 0930-1630. The 3 sessions are the last 3 weeks in the advertised 'youth terms'.
All of our courses are taught by RYA qualified instructors in groups with a maximum ratio of 6 students to each instructor. Teaching takes place on the water and in the classroom and we move between the two depending on the group, the weather conditions and the requirements of the curriculum. We normally use Laser Bugs or Oppies on this course and the student will usually be sailing single handedly.
The improver course at Queen Mary focusses on RYA Stage 3 of the curriculum. On achieving Stage 3, the student will be able to sail in any direction and rig and launch their own boat. Unless the student has a significant amount of sailing experience, it is quite normal for Stage 3 to be completed after more than one Improver Sailing course.
