RYA Start Windsurfing

Timing

This course runs from 09:30 until 13:30 over a weekend, which includes a short break each day.

Teaching

All of our courses are taught by RYA qualified instructors in groups with a maximum ratio of 6 students to each instructor.  Teaching takes place on the water and in the classroom and we move between the two depending on the group, the weather conditions and the requirements of the curriculum.

The Start Windsurfing course focusses on the RYA Start Windsurfing syllabus from the National Windsurfing Scheme. The course assumes no prior experience of windsurfing. At the end of the weekend you should have an understanding of rigging and launching your kit, sailing upwind, downwind and across the wind, steering, tacking and gybing.
