RYA Level 3: Better Sailing
This weekend course runs from 09:30 until 17:00 both days.
All of our courses are taught by RYA qualified instructors in groups with a maximum ratio of 6 students to each instructor. Teaching takes place on the water and in the classroom and we move between the two depending on the group, the weather conditions and the requirements of the curriculum.
The RYA Level 3: Better Sailing course at Queen Mary assumes that the student has previously acheived the RYA Level 2: Basic Skills certificate. By the end of this course, you will be safety conscious and capable of sailing without an instructor on board in moderate conditions. Successful completion of this course is the ideal preparation (and pre-requisite) for starting the RYA Advanced Modules. The course is normally completed in crewed dinghies and follows the RYA Level 3 syllabus on the National Sailing Scheme.
